people are rude sheep / the joys of a simple text message

Spending 16 hours of my weekend cashiering this weekend I forgot why I left retail 2 1/2 years ago. The general public annoys the hell out of me! Say registers 1, 2, and 3 are open. Everyone will line up at the register that already has a person (we'll say 3). Register 3 will accumulate all of the people in the store while the cahsier's on 1 & 2 sit there and pick their noses they're so bored! You can stand there and yell "there's no waiting on 1" and they look at you like "how dare you make me walk 10 feet when I could stand here and bitch about how long the line is!" And according to the way people act in stores, they must all have a full-time wait staff that follow them around, except when they shop. Just because you no longer need the cart you used to bring your stuff to the register, doesn't mean it's okay to abandon it in the middle of the register lane! Ugh! It's a good thing I only have to live in the retail world for a very short amount of time each week.

Also equally amazing, but in a completely different way is the silly joy I get from the tingling sensation on my leg when my phone receives a text message. This is also generally while I'm cashiering and creates for a VERY unproductive associate. It's so nice to have someone that communicates on a regular basis. Even though I don't have Chris, it's still nice and things seem to be going well so far. I get so giddy when I feel my phone go off in my pocket and run to the bathroom as soon as I can (to read and respond to the text message). Of course, I'm sure everyone I work with now thinks I have a serious bladder issue, but I don't give a damn. I'm twitterpated!

LOL, I think you do have a bladder problem and you just use that as an excuse! :)
